Volunteering with Casting Carolinas

As this weekend dawns, I am filled with gratitude and excitement. I am honored to share that I’ll be volunteering with "Casting Carolinas" at a transformative retreat for women who’ve triumphed over cancer. Nestled in the serene beauty of Lake Logan, Western Carolina, we will immerse ourselves in the healing embrace of nature. 🌿💦

Acting as the Director of Health and Wellness for this retreat for the first time, I’m thrilled to have the chance to witness the strength, resilience, and unity of about 16 incredible souls. Amidst the educational sessions, dancing, and the rhythmic beats of drumming, we’ll celebrate victories, big and small, and the indomitable human spirit. 💃🥁

As a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner, every day, I am awed by the bravery and fortitude of the patients that I see in the hospital. This weekend, we will honor the victorious journey of 16 remarkable women who have won their battles against cancer. We’ll explore the therapeutic art of fly fishing, a testament to the dance of resilience and grace; every cast symbolizes overcoming and rising above. 🎣

On Sunday, my husband Mike and 11 other dedicated guides  (several from the Tuckaseegee Fly Shop), will join us, weaving their expertise into this tapestry of healing and celebration. Together, we will cast our lines into the tranquil waters of Lake Logan, each ripple echoing the stories of battles won and the radiant spirit of survival. 🏞️

This weekend is a reminder of the power of community, the strength found in unity, and the radiant light that shines through every survivor. Here’s to a weekend of healing, celebration, and the magical dance of souls intertwined by stories of courage and triumph. Let the casting begin! 🎣🌟 #CastingCarolinas #StrengthInUnity #CelebratingSurvivors
